Girls In SpaceTue, 19 Jul 2022A group of Year 9 girls have had the opportunity to participate in a ‘Girls in Space’ project initiated by Mrs Wright and Mr Elwell in Maths. Students have engaged in several activities such as learning about the lack of diversity in the 1960’s space industry, watching Hidden Figures, learning about STEM careers and Skyping a scientist from the European Space Observatory. In Careers week, the girls went along with the rest of year 9 had the opportunity to go to the National Space Centre in Leicester. Teachers were impressed with the student’s engagement with learning and therefore have been awarded with certificates. Those who attended extra sessions showed excellent attitudes to learning and asked many insightful questions. We hope that students enjoyed the experience Many thanks to those involved! Images
